壓花玻璃是采用壓延方法制造的一種平板玻璃，在玻璃硬化前用刻有花紋的輥筒在玻璃的單面或者雙面壓上花紋，從而制成單面或雙面有圖案的壓花玻璃。   　　壓花玻璃的表面壓有深淺不同的各種花紋圖案，由于表面凹凸不平，所以光線透過時即產生漫射，因此從玻璃的一面看另一面的物體時，物像就模糊不清，形成了這種玻璃透光不透明的特點。另外，壓花玻璃由于表面有各種方格、圓點、菱形、條狀等花紋圖案，非常漂亮，所以也具有良好的藝術裝飾效果。   　　壓花玻璃的通透性，因花紋、距離的不同而各異。   　　按其通透性可分為近乎透明可見的、稍有透明可見的、幾乎遮擋看不見的和完全遮擋看不見的。   　　按其類型分為壓花玻璃、壓花真空鍍鋁玻璃、立體感壓花玻璃和彩色膜壓花玻璃等。壓花玻璃與普通透明平板玻璃的理化性能基本相同，僅在光學上具有透光不透明的特點，可柔和光線，并具有保護私密的屏護作用和一定的裝飾效果。壓花玻璃適用于建筑的室內間隔，衛(wèi)生間門窗及需要光線又需要阻斷視線的各種場合。   　　(1)玻璃尺寸偏差(包括偏斜)、缺角、彎曲度、邊部凸出和殘缺的檢驗方法，按《平板玻璃》(GB 11614——2009)有關規(guī)定進行。   　　(2)玻璃厚度用直徑50mm板規(guī)在四邊中點測量。   　　(3)對玻璃的線道、熱圈、夾雜物、氣泡、皺紋、傷痕、裂紋和壓口等進行檢查時，將玻璃垂直放置，在自然光線下，觀察者距玻璃0.6m，目光與玻璃面垂直進行觀察。   　　(4)圖案偏斜分三種形式，用金屬直尺測量長度h。   　　壓花玻璃也是屬于平板玻璃的一種，只是在平板的基礎上再進行了壓花的處理，所以在選擇上和平板玻璃一樣。只是在選擇時需要考慮壓花玻璃的花紋漂亮與否，這個跟個人的審美觀有很大關系。除此之外，有些壓花玻璃還是彩色的，因而還需要考慮和室內空間的顏色和設計風格的協(xié)調性。 Embossed glass is a flat glass made by calendering method.
